Aspects of Exmoor

Northumberland

Northumberland is a county of contrasts. Inland lie the rolling Cheviot Hills,
which cross the border into Scotland while the coastline has many miles of
smooth golden sand. Northumberland was the cradle of Christianity in
the North and Lindisfarne (Holy Island) is a centre to visit. Several castles
also bear testimony to the troubled past of this border region.
